Just as Timothy knew no other way, I too have felt God's calling in my life for as long as I can remember. However, my mother and I both recall an exact point in my life that I did accept Jesus Christ as my personal Lord and Savior. I was only in grade school and after hearing about Jesus and all that He has done for me, I invited Him into my life. I was then told to go share the good news of my new life with someone. At that age, I could think of no one better than my mom; and so my story begins.
I have been on fire for the Lord ever since... well... ok, sometimes I look like a blazing torch, and other times I have resembled just a bunch of smoking ashes. All in all, though, God has continued to correct me and bring me back to Him. So it is with great love, adoration, and appreciation that I give the whole of my life to Jesus Christ. I cannot begin to comprehend how He has put up with me or why He gives me so many chances. All I truly know is that His grace alone is more than sufficient for me and it is more than enough for anyone else.
I have, at numerous times in my life, chosen to walk down a path that was full of pitfalls. Even though I did this to myself, God was right there guiding me every step of the way. He watched over me and ensured that I grew from each sin, and gained more strength each time I was broken. He continues to put me through trials and tribulations to help me grow, and I praise His holy name for the endless love that He has for me.
What is so amazing to me is that I am always closer to the Lord when I retain a broken spirit. This does not mean that I walk around in rags, sore and bleeding from punishment. It is simply the opposite, I walk tall, strong, and confident in the faith that I have in Jesus Christ; yet I know that I am nothing on my own, apart from God. God uses those who desire to be used, He molds those who wilt before Him, and He comes to those who continue to ask, seek, and knock (Matt 7:7-12).
I know for a fact that all Christians are ministers. That's right! A minister is not someone special who stands before a congregation and preaches to them from the pulpit. A minister is a Christian with a purpose; and since God has given every Christian a purpose, then we are all ministers. Unfortunately, we have fallen out of touch with what God intends for us to do. So what should we do?
The answer is simple: As soon as you become a Christian, you have been appointed by God to do His work; therefore, since Jesus Christ walked in perfect harmony with the Father and His will, we will take a look at what Jesus told us to do in Matthew 28:18-20. "And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, 'All power is given unto Me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world.' Amen."
Ministry is an active participation of one's life and legacy in fulfilling the Great Commission. How we minister is what makes us all special, and this is where the gifts of the Holy Spirit come in. Everyone has some of the gifts; no one has all, no one has just one, and no one has none. Since we are all different, God uses us all in different ways. All of us are ministers with a ministry that fits a Godly purpose in a special Godly area.
As for me, God is still revealing His purpose in my life and will continue to refine me and my purpose until He returns or calls me home. This website is just one part of what I do in order to fulfill the commands of my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. The "Q" in QMinistry stands for my last name, Quick, and the word Ministry is as I have stated above. I have stated that this is just one part of my ministry; and I believe that all Christians should continue to look for additional ways that they can be of service.
Remember, It is never a bad thing to try to do something for the Lord, as long as it is done to glorify Him. If you fail, then God may have something greater in store for you, and you will be made stronger and gain more understanding through it. If you succeed, then God is blessing your work and He will show you how you can do more for Him.
Be on the lookout and always be prepared to be attacked by evil forces, for Satan hates it when we seek to build up God's kingdom. Ephesians 6:11-18 tells us all about the battle that is raging and what we can do to protect ourselves and how to fight the good fight. It is time to get ready! So have faith, for God is on our side and our Lord is coming soon!
If you have put up with me and read this far then you have made it to the final section about QMinistry. Oddly enough, it is this final section that contains the beginnings of QMinistry. No, you will not have to hear about my birth and childhood. On a side note, Jeremiah 1:5 is a great passage if you are afraid that God does not even know or care about you, but that is a topic for another day. I guess that I will get right to the point.
In early 2005, I was nearing the end of my service with the U.S. Army. I knew that I would no longer have email provided by the military or our internet service provider in Hawaii. Yes, it was quite unfortunate to be stationed in Hawaii. Now that you feel so bad for me, lets get back to the point. I did not want to use a web based email service, as most of them have too much secular affiliation and filth. My solution was to start my own website, purchase my own domain, and use my own email. This process brought forth QMinistry and all that you see here today.
God has blessed me with many opportunities and I know that He has blessed you too. I pray that we all take the time to praise and glorify His holy name. I also want to say thank you to those who have made this possible so far, to those who currently contribute, and to those who have yet to help me. Finally, I want to thank globalcon.net, a Christian web hosting company, for hosting this site, and for providing such wonderful service and support.
God Bless you all and keep you always,
Bobby
