First off, you can not have two different translations of the words of God into the same language and expect that they are both correct. This concept is both illogical and unbiblical. If I handed you a copy of Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet and a copy of a CliffsNotes booklet on Romeo and Juliet, you would no doubt realize within a matter of seconds that one is complete and one is not; one is genuine to the original and one is merely an attempt to convey the meaning of the original. This is precisely what we have in front of us with all of the numerous "versions" of the Bibles out there today.
Second, this is a very serious matter for those who chose to follow Jesus Christ. Numerous "versions" of the Bible cause divisions and confusion within the Church and God hates this. It becomes nearly impossible for us as Christians to properly "reprove, rebuke, and exhort" each other with "doctrine" when everyone uses a different bible with a different perspective on the matter. Imagine a large company trying to successfully manage, discipline, and unify it's employees when each supervisor has prepared their own version of the employee handbook, with differing dress codes, standards, work days, and duties. It just wouldn't work and the company would utterly fail!
There is only one final authority for all manner of faith and practice within Christianity, and it is the WORD OF GOD, the Holy Bible. Furthermore, there is only one translation that remains inspired and preserved in the English language, the Authorized King James Bible.
I have found a few good resources on this topic and although they are not an exhaustive study they should give you a good foundation to build upon. I challenge you to read the true words of God and see for yourself that it is the only way to go. I would be glad to send you more information if you earnestly desire to know the truth. The Church that Jesus said he would build is alive today and if we are to see it thrive then we need to get on the "same page" or we will be no different than the example of the company above... we will fail if we try to use anything but the genuine Word of God.

Will your bible pass the test? This is a very strong example of what has happened so subtly to the pure words of God. You might not realize it, but every other "version" of the Bible in print today has butchered the truth; the NIV is not the only culprit. The only reliable text is the Authorized King James.
